Usage :

When running the script without parameters, you’ll get the following "usage" information :

  usage: pveciscobackup.pl <hostsfile> <ip of tftp> <enable password>
              [<telnet password> <telnet username>]

The script has 3 mandatory parameters : 

  • the name (full path) of the file that contains the host names or IP address of the switches to backup. (only one entry per line)
  • the IP address of your tftp server
  • the enable password

You can add 2 more optional parameters :

  • a telnet password (in case the telnet password is different than the enable password)
  • a telnet username (in case a telnet username is required)
