{"id":2360,"date":"2009-10-24T11:11:09","date_gmt":"2009-10-24T09:11:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.corelan.be:8800\/?p=2360"},"modified":"2009-10-24T11:11:09","modified_gmt":"2009-10-24T09:11:09","slug":"exchange-2010-certificates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.corelan.be\/index.php\/2009\/10\/24\/exchange-2010-certificates\/","title":{"rendered":"Exchange 2010 Certificates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In an <a href=\"\/index.php\/2008\/07\/14\/windows-2008-pki-certificate-authority-ad-cs-basics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">older blog post<\/a> on Certificate Authorities, I have provided some information about the process to generate Exchange 2007 certificates.\u00a0 This process has slightly changed in Exchange 2010, and Johan Delimon (pro-exchange.be) has written an excellent article about this : <a title=\"Generating Exchange 2010 Certificates (Exchange Management Shell)\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20150907024128\/http:\/\/www.pro-exchange.be:80\/blogs\/exchange2010\/archive\/2009\/10\/23\/generating-exchange-2010-certificates-exchange-management-shell.aspx\">Generating Exchange 2010 Certificates (Exchange Management Shell)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The 2 most important changes are :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the new-exchangecertificate cmd-let no longer supports the -path variable (so requests cannot be written directly to disk)<\/li>\n<li>the 2007 GUI at Digicert still uses the -path parameter, so a new GUI was created to support 2010 certificate requests<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In short, the updated procedure is :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>generate the powershell command using an updated gui at Digicert : <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digicert.com\/easy-csr\/exchange2010.htm\">https:\/\/www.digicert.com\/easy-csr\/exchange2010.htm<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Save the exchange certificate request into a $Data variable<\/li>\n<li>Write the contents of the $Data variable to a file\u00a0 (Set-Content -path \u201cc:\\request.req\u201d -Value $Data)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Then, sign and import the certificate (<a title=\"bb124424(EXCHG.140).aspx\" href=\"http:\/\/technet.microsoft.com\/en-us\/library\/bb124424(EXCHG.140).aspx\">bb124424(EXCHG.140).aspx<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In an older blog post on Certificate Authorities, I have provided some information about the process to generate Exchange 2007 certificates.\u00a0 This process has slightly changed in Exchange 2010, and Johan Delimon (pro-exchange.be) has written an excellent article about this : Generating Exchange 2010 Certificates (Exchange Management Shell) The 2 most important changes are : &hellip;
